Where has the time Gone?

As I was sitting at my computer looking through friends' blogs and anticipating their next post, I thought to myself...wait a minute, I actually have a minute to update my own!! So here I am posting a brief update of what has been going on in the past 4 months... Visiting my Grandma Newcomb.

This is mostly what I have been involved with. She is the new love of my family's life! Her name is McKinley and she is a precious little thing.

I love this picture...it better not be a sign of hair battles to come!

F.Y.I. This post ended up taking me 4 days to complete, so don't expect much for awhile (ha ha) There will be more to come, but don't get your hopes too high as to when that will happen!

Carmeled Apples with the Young Women

For one of our mutual activities we came over to my house and made carmeled apples. My favorite one was the "Apple Pie". You roll it in carmel, dip the apple in white chocolate, then roll it in a mixture of crushed graham crackers, cinnamon and sugar...YUMMY!!

Haunted Halloween

So this is the first year that Macie and Paden didn't want to be something cute, but instead they wanted to be SCARY...Macie wanted to be a Zombie Bride and Paden wanted to be Frankenstein...at least I still have little Hadlie that doesn't know that she gets an opinion yet!

Paden loves the Yellowstone bus so we HAD to get a picture in front of it.

The kids got their Junior Ranger badges while touring Yellowstone.

Macie had a great facination with this wood...it showed how old it was by all of the lines and how it survived a few fires before it died!

On the last evening of our trip we spotted a Grizzly Bear! We were so excited, it is that tiny black spot above Paden's left shoulder...our spotting scope showed it off better than this picture!

They were blindfolded for the surprise...

It was a tractor made completely from tires, it was AWESOME!!

I can't believe Paden is going to be 5 years old this week. He has been so much fun to have in our family. He is so tender-hearted and has an absolute love for life! Here are a few of my favorite pictures of him...

Girls Camp

I am in the Young Women's and I have absolutely loved my time with these girls. This June we were able to go up to Camp Zarahemla for Stake Camp and we had a ball!

These girls are so amazing and I love hanging out with them. I can only hope that my girls turn out this good!

I love the leaders that I get to serve with too! They are great examples and friends!

Baby Animal Days at This is the Place Park

For Iggy's birthday we celebrated here! They had the petting zoo open and all sorts of other fun activities!

They were able to ride on the horses, I don't know who had more fun...the kids or the babies!

Hadi loved the little ducklings and chicks! She calls them "quack, quacks"

This was Paden's favorite part to feed the goats! He spent a majority of the time doing just that.

They had the best time riding this tiny little train...however, it derailed half way through the ride and Ben had to help the conductor get it back on course! It was funny to see the kids bumping up and down before they figured out what was wrong!

We found a pioneer school house where Macie was able to have her turn playing the dunce!

Today my Grandpa Joe passed away. I will miss him dearly for he was a great man and I loved him so much. Although he was a man of few words, I always felt the love he had for me and my family. Grandpa, thanks for all the time that I was able to spend with you, for always letting us use your pool, for helping me out whenever I needed it, and for being an amazing father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

We went skiing last month and I am finally getting around to blogging about it!

These two rocked the slopes...they are sooo good! Both of them learned to ski with out the edgy-wedgy on the tip of their skiis.

Paden had a few really good falls, but most we found him smiling.

Tubes, Tonsels, and Pain...Oh My!

Wednesday we decided we didn't have enough drama in our lives and wanted to add more. Hadlie has suffered from ear infections for almost her entire 15 months of life. It was definitely time for tubes in her ears.

This is Hadlie after she calmed down...20 minutes after coming out of the anesthesia. The first 20 minutes included thrashing, screaming, kicking and arching her back!

In the evening, Hadlie was dancing around, talking and singing. I think she couldn't believe how much better she could hear!

Paden had enormous tonsils and so we decided to take those out. He has been snoring for quite awhile now and we are sure he has sleep apnea as well.

These 2 pictures are Paden's "before" pictures...notice the smile!

Here is Paden "after". When they wheeled him into where we were, he was screaming, and kicking the hospital bed! My children apparently don't wait up from drugs too well!

He was in quite a bit of pain... boo hoo.

This is the "after" picture, the little red spots are where the tonsils were. When the doctor came out of the surgery he said, "Paden's tonsils were HUGE!" They rate them from a 1 to a 4 (4 being the biggest) and Paden was a 4 plus! They completely touched each other! WOW!

A sledding we will go...

New Years day was the perfect day for sledding. All the kids had such a good time and needless to say, it won't be long before we go again!

Mrs. Clause made the trip with Santa this year and read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" She was so dang cute and had the attention of each and every little child!

I thought I had better post about Hadlie's 1st Birthday before Christmas gets here and I miss the opportunity. Bear with me, because it is a Witch Party and I know that as we are about to enter into December, it is a little inappropriate, but better late than never right?

Bear Lake

I know, I know...I thought I would be better and then my life slips away and I can't keep up with blogging! We went over Conference Weekend to a cabin up at Bear Lake. We had so much fun. Here are a few pics from our adventure...

The Student Becomes the Teacher

Despite my busy day/week, I had to stop and take a moment to tell. Today I went and volunteered at Macie's class. Before we went she told me, "Now Mom, just because I am your daughter it doesn't mean you can't have me come and read to you." I told her that today I would have her come out and read to me along with her other classmates.

When I called her out into the hall to do her reading she did great. I was about to commend her on how well she did when she said, "Mom you did great, that is exactly how you are supposed to help. Now when I go get the next person, do it the exactly the same way."

Thanks Macie, I am glad that I volunteered in your class the right way! She cracks me up!

Paden was so excited to go to "Miss Jowinn's" (Miss Jolynne) preschool. He has been watching Macie go to school all week and me teaching preschool at Miss. Crystal's and wondered when it would finally be his turn.

DHS D'ettes Clinic

Macie and her friends signed up to do the drill clinic for Davis High School. The first week of kindergarten consisted of us coming home from school, snarfing down a snack and racing up to Davis to dance for an hour only to come home, have dinner, do homework and go to bed. I think it wore me out more than Macie! It totally paid off, she danced so cute and had so much fun!

This wasn't a very good picture, but you can see Macie in the back of the middle, right. She has her arms going up and her mouth opened wide!

It is official...I am now a soccer mom! I say that with pride because Macie is quite the soccer player. She even scored the first goal for the team! Her team consists of some of the neighborhood girls and they have an absolute ball (no pun intended)!

Two Dollar Tuesdays Rock!

The whole month of August the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point has $2 Tuesdays. We took advantage of one of those Tuesdays (along with the rest of Utah!)

We have been extremely crazy here at the Chamberlain house and I am finally getting around to updating the old blog so here we go....

La Platta: we took our camping trailer out the 2nd weekend in August. This is where my parents camp the entire summer. Although it was August, it was freezing cold. It even rained a little on us. We had a great time! La Platta is an old silver mining town that now is just a place for people to camp and party...they do have old mines and cabins from the old established town.

Our new tent trailer!!

We bought (as Paden calls it) a "New, old tent trailer". To break it in, we went up to Raspberry Days at Bear Lake...actually we stayed in Montpelier. We went up to Jackson Hole on Friday and on Saturday we went into Bear Lake to shop and hang out and hung out in the trailer until just before dinner time. Then we found an old-time photo place and decided to go take a crack at that. After that, most of us went up to Star Valley, Afton to hike up to Periodic Springs. It was one of the most beautiful hikes I have ever gone on! Here are some pictures from our jaunt!

This is half way up the hike, look how blue the water is, it was so pretty.

This is the top of Periodic Springs.. In the late summer through winter, this water stops and restarts every 12-18 minutes.

I would recommend this hike to anyone who happens through Afton on their way to Jackson...it was a fairly easy hike (about 1 mile) and beautiful the entire way up!

June and July may as well be December for us...not because of the cold weather, but because we are so stinking busy and spend so much money in these months! Here are a few of the many things that have happened since I last blogged (out of order, but you get the idea)...

Paden's Madagascar Pool Party...we celebrated Paden's 4th birthday at Grandpa's pool! The highlights are in this collage which consist of swimming, a hot dog bar, some awesome presents, and a new 4-wheeler for Paden!

We spent a couple weeks rennovating the kids' rooms. We switched the girls room with Paden's because it was bigger. It gave me a chance to paint and redecorate! There are still a few things I want to add, but I need to save up for them!

Father's Day and Ben's b-day always land in the same week, along with both my dad and stepdad's birthdays as well. The little picture is of a "lawn mower" cupcake that the kids made for all the dad's on Father's Day...Take special note of Ben's awesome tie that Macie made him in her Summer Safari Preschool. (Thanks for the laugh Jodi!)

And last, but certainly not least...Macie learned to ride a bike without her training wheels!!! She keeps on telling us, "Mom and Dad, I am just so proud of myself!" She is doing great and is getting better every day!

I hope you enjoyed this little insight into our busy summer. There are quite a few more things that have happened, but come on, I don't want to overwhelm you or me for that matter!

Ben got a fire pit for his birthday along with a few other staples...marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate! We spent the night out on our deck cooking up messes and having a great time!

The fire pit smelled just like we were out camping.

I tried one and forgot how yummy they actually are. All of you dieters out there will be sad to hear that I had a second one because the first just wasn't enough!

Basketball Time!

This last Saturday in Camp Champ Paden learned to play Basketball. This was a harder sport for him, he has never dribbled a basketball before, but we have been practicing and he will rock next week!

Paden had this awesome Jazz headband on and the Camp Champ helpers called him John Stockton.

Macie Graduated from Pumpkin Patch Preschool on May 28th 2009. She did great in her final program performance! She has learned so much this year thanks to Miss. Crystal and Miss. Laura...

Seven Months Already?

Can you believe that this cute little thing has been in our lives for 7 months already? She is really getting her personality and adding so much to our family.

Giggling (only at Macie or Paden)
Finally eating more than just rice cereal (she loves carrots!)

Paden Likes It!

Last night Paden actually ate ALL OF HIS DINNER!!! (and no, it wasn't a peanut butter sandwich) I made Maddox Turkey Steaks for dinner, which are one of my favorites, and as soon as we sat down to the dinner table Paden starts in on the usual "I don't like this Mom" routine. I told him that if he wanted any treats that he was going to have to just eat his dang dinner. He popped a piece of the turkey steak into his mouth and the next thing I know, his entire plate was clean! I am not expecting this to happen tonight, or any other time soon; I am just saying, appreciate the small things when they do come your way...who knows, maybe I am not such a bad cook after all!

That's right, he is even eating the salad on his plate, he is holding a piece of lettuce.

Macie has always been my good eater, so it is no surprise that her plate is empty, but how do you make a big deal about Paden without reinforcing Macie? F.Y.I. Ben is not in the background praying, he is just trying really hard to finish his dinner...when he actually finishes his dinner, I will probably blog about that momentous occasion too!

T-Ball Time!

Paden is enrolled in Kaysville City's Camp Champ this spring. It is a 6 week program where he learns T-ball, Basketball, and then Soccer. He got a cute yellow shirt and then he gets a ball from each sport. He was awesome and had a blast...

Hitting the ball was the first station he went to. He is quite coordinated and could connect to the ball most of the time.

After he would hit it, he wanted to go and retrieve it too.

The next station was throwing. He would throw the ball to Ben from each of these cones. Learning to step and throw was something that took lots of practice, but he was really good. Notice the ball in the top left corner of the picture.

After throwing he went to a fielding station. They taught him to crouch in the ready position and not let the ball get past him. Doesn't he look like he is focused?

The final station was learning to catch the ball. They gave him a Velcro thing to try to catch with, this was not his favorite station; I don't think he liked the ball coming at his face.

Race for the Cure

This last Saturday some of our family and friends enlisted in an awesome cause...we did the Race for the Cure in Salt Lake City in honor of Gummy Judy who, by the way just finished her last chemotherapy session! There were about 18,000 people that came out to support Breast Cancer Awareness, it was amazing to see that so many people have been effected by this. Some walked, some ran, and some cheated (Ben), but we all had a blast.

Pam and Kellie came down just to support us and to play with Hadlie while we raced. They are two of the most awesome people I know!

Paden wanted to run the race too...he kept on asking Kristi to run with him. Those short little legs of his sure are fast!

This is right after we all finished. Paden was convinced that I didn't run the race because I wasn't with him while he was running.

Disneyland Trip

We just got back from a GREAT vacation to Disneyland! The kids had a great time and were a bit sad to be coming back home. Here are some pictures documenting our fun trip...

The Joy of Quiet Time!

I have come upon a new treasure...Quiet Time. I know what you are thinking, "Natalie, everyone knows about Quiet Time." and are probably right, but just recently I stepped it up a notch and had each of my non-napping kids take a "Quiet time" for 1 hour in their own rooms where they can read, play, sleep (rarely happens), or whatever they want to as long as they are semi-quiet.
Since we have been doing this, I have discovered that Macie has quite the imagination...the other day during quite time, she found her pretend cell phone and called each of the Disney Princesses and their respective Princes to come to a party at her house after her Quiet Time was over. (Paden still thinks that the Genie is coming to our house and keeps on asking when he will be here)

Today, she found her vtech camera (which makes movies) and is pretending to do a show about Disneyland. When Quiet Time was over she enlisted me to hold the camera and this is what she came up with...

I look forward to more funny stories that her imaginative mind will come up with!

Ski Bunny

On Valentines Day Ben, Macie and I went skiing. I wanted to take Paden too, but Ben said, "If I have to teach Paden, who is going to race after Macie? You can't ski as fast as she does." As sad of a statement as that is...he is totally right. She kicked my trash!

Macie needed one run down the bunny hill to remember how to ski and then we were chasing her every run after that...she went on trails through the trees and Ben had to go chasing her through the terrain course to go off a few jumps.

Girls Night Out!

Macie needed a night out that was all about her, so last night we went out to get her a manicure and to visit Grandma Judy and then out for ice cream!

The dude giving her a manicure was really cute with her! (I don't think she understood him very well, but she would smile and look at me for translation)

On Friday the 16th, we went to Salt Lake to watch the Ute's Parade. They had a perfect record this season 13-0! They just won the Sugar Bowl and had well over 10,000 fans who came out to congradulate them...

2 Months Already...

Yesterday we had Hadlie's 2 month check up.

Weight: 11 lb. 2 oz. - 50th percentile

Height: 23.6 inches - 86th percentile

Head: 38.5 centimeters - 38th percentile

Right now she is really starting to respond to our voices. She always smiles when she hears me (knowing that milk is soon to come) and always frowns at Ben (knowing that the milk wagon has left). She is cooing, and when she is on her tummy she is starting to lift up her head. Her favorite thing right now is to be bundled up like a little burrito and bounced up and down while we rock her back and forth...I know, very high maintenance, but she is so cute and her smile makes it all worth it!

Last Saturday night we had a family party where Santa came to visit. At the last minute Santa could not show up and Ben said that he would pinch hit for him. Ben pulled off the part quite well I must say...I think the key to getting him to open up is putting a red suit and a beard on him. Anyway, he was seated right next to Macie, the entire time that Santa was talking and giving out gifts, Macie was watching him quite closely. After he had handed out the presents and had each of the kids sit on his lap he soon left and Macie came over to me and said, "I think that was your husband." I was caught off guard and didn't know quite what to say. I asked her if she thought Santa could be everywhere at once or if she thought he might have helpers. She replied that he had helpers and that her daddy must have been really good all year to become one of Santa's Helpers! She handled it very well and after I told her that Daddy was a secret helper, she didn't say another word to anyone!

Healthy Cookies

On Monday night for Family Night we made cookies and had them with milk. While we were eating them, Macie said, "Mom, since cookies and milk go together, does that mean that cookies are in the Dairy group?"

Hey that sounds good to me! I have always wanted to have a reason to eat more cookies, now I just tell people that I need 4-6 servings of cookies a day!

Here is a healthy cookie recipe for cookies so you can have a few more servings a day too!

Healthy Cookies
1/2 c. of Margarine or 6 Tbsp. of Brummel and Brown spread (it's where the margarine is, it is just yogart)
1 c. of sugar...you can omit this if you choose...(i don't)
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 whole egg & 1 egg white
2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. low fat milk
2 c. Old fashioned oats (not quick)
2 c. Uncle Sam's Cereal toasted wheats with flaxseed (found in the cereal aisle of Albertsons or Walmart)
3/4 c. bitter sweet chocolate chips

Cream butter & sugar together. Add vanilla, eggs, then all of dry ingredients. Then add milk, oats, and cereal and chocolate chips. Put rounded tablespoon of dough on baking sheet and cook at 325 degrees for 9-11 min.

One of my favorite things about having girls is that I get to do their hair. I have been so lucky that Macie is so tolerant of my fiddling around with her hair, all I have to do is stick her in front of the TV and she is good for a good while for my enjoyment! We were a little worried about how Paden would do once Hadlie was here, and all in all he has done pretty well! I have to say that it is mostly because I have such an awesome husband who is so great with our kids. Ben will take Paden and do "boys" stuff with him so Paden has a little one on one time. The boys will do anything from play GeoTrax trains, "move" (mow) the lawn, clean the garage, or just watch a boy movie (Cars, Thomas, Mickey Mouse). Everytime the boys get together to hang out Paden says, "Dad, we are boys." They even have turned our office downstairs into "the boys' room". I am really glad that Ben and Paden have this special bond!

Chamberlain Halloween Party

We held our Annual Chamberlain Family Halloween Party early this year due to Hadlie coming. Every year we all dress up, make a trunk or treat, carve pumpkins and bring spooky treats.

Macie and Paden wanted to be Superman and Supergirl this year...can you believe it? I didn't even have to coax them into matching...but I am so glad they did because they looked Super cute!

Ben decided the only way to make a "fat lady" dress up was make her look like an overweight construction worker...when we went to the DI to get "fat" pants we found Ben and Army dude costume...the sad part was, when I got home and tried the pants on (thinking they would be huge on me) they actually fit...how sad.

Look at that profile, if that doesn't say I am ready to pop, I don't know what does!

Macie's Princess Party

Mom decided to make things really easy this year and hire a princess to come and do Macie's party. Being nine months pregnant, I knew I wouldn't have a lot of energy to put forth a great party so I decided to hire it out! What a great decision!

Macie had the perfect Princess Party! She dressed up as Belle from Beauty and the Beast. She calls herself the pretend Belle and says that the "real" Belle came to visit her on her special day!

Belle played all kinds of fun games with the Princes and Princesses. She played pass the wand and kiss the frog! She also made a fun Sandy Candy Wand with the guests!

She also helped Macie open her presents, reminding Macie a few times that princesses are always gracious and say thank you!

After presents she helped the birthday guests sing Happy Birthday to Macie and blow out the princess cupcakes!

What a fun day! I think Mom enjoyed this party just as much as Macie!

My Ode To My Milkman!

I had the neatest thing happen to me this morning! I got a call from Winder Farms. A man on the phone told me his name was Mark and that he hoped it was ok, but one of his collegues happened upon my blog and read about my horrible day (from my previous post). He said that Winder Farms wanted to credit my account for all of the milk I had lost. He said everyone has had a day like that and Winder Farms could sympathize. He said that when they read my post they felt so bad that they wanted to make it better. He said that they really appreciated my business and wanted to let me know it! He also wished me good luck with my baby that was on the way and he hoped all would go well!

How cool is that. I was beside myself that such a great company was out there that cared about each individual customer and wanted to make my life easier! I have to say that I feel that I really owe Winder Farms a great plug...if you haven't had their milk, it truly is yummy. Paden looks forward to his weekly Choco (chocolate milk) and when we are out, asks when the milk man is going to visit him again. I also have tried many of their other products such as their eggs, fruit, and their new meal solutions. I have been pleased with every product I have tried and I highly suggest their strawberry lemonade it is soooo good! I love how convenient it is to have it delivered to my house. I can't believe how much I save on groceries because I don't go to the store for milk and come back with a $100 grocery bill and lots of stuff I didn't really need.

If the food and convenience wasn't enough, I truly believe that my phone call this morning is the best reason of all. Who would have thought that little old me would be so valuable to them that they would want to make my rainy day have a little sunshine in it! Thank you Winder Farms for your great service and commitment to the customer! You have definitely retained my business for good! When it Rains, It Pours!!

I thought that this is a very appropriate phrase for today. Not only because it has been pouring all day, but also because of my day's events...

On my way home from Park City my windshield wiper broke...not just stopped working, but flung out of control and was vertical from my window. I had to drive from Salt Lake City to Kaysville without being able to completely see out my window (due to all the rain).

When we got home, I decided to go get something out in the garage. When I got out there, I noticed that something was leaking from our fridge outside. Just as I had feared, the fridge and freezer are not running. The stuff dripping out was thawed ice cream, popsicles, and many other frozen things...Luckily I had moved many of my freezer dinners to my indoor freezer just days before...but I still lost lots of stuff, and we are cooking a couple of meals that could not be re-frozen. Don't worry though, Ben's Coke was just fine, we are very fortunate that coke can be warm and then be re-chilled!

Then to top it off, about half way through the whole broken fridge ordeal, I realized that I had never gotten our Winder Dairy milk out of the milk box yesterday. It was a pretty warm day yesterday and I had to chuck 2 1/2 gallons of milk...

It is not bad enough that Hadlie kicking me in the ribs is a constant reminder that I must be getting close, but I have now decided to add this little gidget to my blog to show exactly how far along I am...not like my size isn't a huge indicator!

I think I am going to start packing my bag for the hospital...I have debated over whether I should do this already or not for the last week or so. My pregnancy book says that I should have already done it and now my weekly email is nudging me to do the job too. I just don't want the suitcase staring at me for the next 3 or so weeks, but you know me and how I like to be prepared! I guess I could just pack it and hide it in my closet so it wasn't a constant reminder of something that hasn't happened yet. We'll see how ambitious I am tomorrow...

I am now 351/2 weeks pregnant and getting a little anxious to have Hadlie! I went to the doctor's office this week and asked her to check to see if I was dilated. She checked and said that I am at a 1. I was so excited that my body is starting to begin the process of labor until I went home and looked in my pregnancy book and saw what a 1 actually is. If you take the width of my pinky finger, that is about a 1. I was quite discouraged and realized how much farther I have to go. I am getting to the point where I am wiped out by the smallest of tasks and getting extremely hormonal about the dumbest things. I am totally in the nesting mode and still have so much to do. I am hoping in 2 weeks I will have a better idea of when I will actually have this little girl! Until then, be patient with my emotional roller coaster mood swings and waddling...

What the...?

This weekend Paden had a little mishap. We actually have no idea what happened, but Friday morning he woke up and would not walk on his left leg. He crawled around everywhere. After a few hours of this, I (being such a cold-hearted mom) told him to quit playing and start walking or no treats for him all day. He tried to stand up and wouldn't put any weight on that left leg. So I thought I would put an ace bandage on him and tell him that he was fixed and he could walk on it again. He thought that was pretty neat, but went to walk and still couldn't put any weight on it.

Now I knew there was really something wrong. So I finally decided to call the doctor and see what they thought. When we got there, my doctor wasn't in so we saw another one and he screamed the entire time because he didn't know her. She had a very hard time examining him and couldn't find anything wrong. When she left and I put him down he started to limp on it again so I grabbed her and told her to watch us as we walked out of the office. When she finally saw him walk she put a splint on him and told us if he wasn't better the next day to get an X-ray.

We decided not to get him an X-ray the next day because he wasn't in excruciating pain, he was just hobbling around. As the days have gone on, he has started to progressively walk better, but he still limps. It doesn't seem to bother him too much, he still likes to try to run around, but we still have no idea what the heck it was! We are hoping that he pulled a muscle or something like that, but what do we know!!!

One of my favorite parts of the trip is visiting the Tetons, they are so majestic and beautiful. It was quite cloudy and stormy this day and we didn't get to see the tops of many of them, but I still loved it!

Ben & Paden in front of Gibbon River Falls. This one always freaks me out because of how close to the edge you actually are. I finally had to get back in the car or I was going to have a coronary watching the kids look at these falls.

While waiting for Old Faithful to go off, Ben gave Macie instructions over the walkie talkie (in her right hand). She was quite a ways away from us and I am quite sure that there were people wondering what the heck she was doing...In this picture she is being asked to raise both of her hands way up high.

Macie gets a cool badge for all of her hard work with the Junior Ranger Program. She really learned a lot while she was working on this pack. She learned that Yellowstone is actually inside of a huge volcano and that there are lots of animals in the park to see!

This summer's funds have been put towards a new deck. Our old one was just two cement slabs that were totally uneven. One of our favorite things is to just kick it outside and we weren't doing it at all with the weak patio we had. So Ben decided he needed a project and this would be a fun one!

Paden loves helping his daddy with the deck. You will often seen him out there with a hammer, nails, screw driver, or some other tool in his hand tinkering with the wood.

Just happy to help!

It's looking good. Not much longer before it is done. Stay tuned for the finished project and hopefully we will be having a BBQ to break it in really soon!

5 Things I love!!

Alright, I got tagged to do this and I am kind of excited, because I haven't ever done this before so bear with me...

1. My children. Although this should be two and a half of my things that I love, I will bunch it together. My two little red heads are so cute and definately spunky. They are always throwing a fast ball at me and I am really trying to keep up, but I can't imagine life without them!

2. Ben. o.k. this one is probably a given, but I have to put it in there. Ben and I really have a good thing going and we work so well. We don't really fight too much just jab each other with cheap shots every now and then and get it out of our system. We really have a lot in common and I really enjoy spending my time with him!

3. Running. That is right, running. If you would have asked me two years ago I would have NEVER put this under things I love, but after getting in shape and being able to run, I found it quite addicting. I guess I don't love running as much as I love the way I feel after I run. What a rush!

4. Eating. Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love a good treat! Some of my favorites include Cheesecake, Chips and Salsa, Blizzards, and pretty much anything else that is sitting in front of me at the time.

5. Traveling. Alright, let's be more specific...traveling to Disneyland. It truly is the happiest place on earth. I thought I would outgrow this Disney fetish of mine, but it seems to me it keeps on getting more and more fun! I love to go with my family and now that we have kids, it is like a whole new Disneyland has opened up and I enjoy it just as much as the old thrilling Disneyland that I was used to! Who wouldn't love a coke, bag of popcorn, and good parade?

Every year the entire Chamberlain family goes to a Bee's game on a night when the are doing fireworks. We watch the game, eat lots of treats, and then watch an awesome fireworks show! We had a good time this year as usual, thanks for inviting us Gummy!

Paden decided he wanted a dump truck birthday party this year. So we turned Grandpa Joe's pool into a construction site! I made a "mud" birthday cake and put in the back of a dump truck. We couldn't find any matches so Kevin rounded up a blow torch to light the construction cone candles. It completed the Construction theme!

Living in Kaysville definately has its benefits!! We are withing walking distance from the Kaysville parade and the fireworks. The Chamberlain family came over Friday morning to enjoy Breakfast Burritos and that evening for a BBQ. We really enjoyed this 4th of July and hope that this will become a standing tradition!
